STAFF BIO’S

Janet Waldron: President & Instructor

President and Instructor EFDA, COT, and RDA:  Janet is the President of the Learn to Earn Dental Staff School. She has had over 25 years of experience in the practice of family dentistry. She holds her Radiation Hygiene from Emory University. She has taught, trained, and placed dental assistants over the past 18 years. Janet currently coaches and is a management consults for Dentistry Infusion. Her background with Quest and Fortune Management offers a variety of dental courses including dental assisting training for instructors, implant coordinator, front office administrator, radiology, sealant, and nitrous continuing education courses.
 She has dedicated her life to her patients and students and loves seeing people enter the field of dentistry, where there is a great need. Janet says, “There is nothing more gratifying than teaching dentistry to those who want to learn.”

Janet resides in Marietta with her husband Dr. Jon Waldron

Dr. Jonathan C. Waldron, D.M.D., P.C. Director 

After graduating from Duke University in 1966, Dr. Jonathan Waldron earned his Navy Wings in January of 1968. After a combat tour of duty in Vietnam he was awarded the Navy Achievement Medal and three Air Medals. He finished his flying career at NAS Guantanomo Bay, Cuba as a station pilot and Personnel Officer of the Naval Air Station.

Upon leaving active duty, Dr. Waldron graduated from the University of Florida School of Dentistry and served four years as a dental officer in the Naval Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan and then at NAS Atlanta. While in private practice, Dr. Waldron has served as Commanding Officer of three Reserve Dental and Medical Units, the last of which was involved in Desert Storm.

Now a retired Navy Reserve Captain, Dr. Waldron has been practicing in Marietta for over thirty years, including the last twelve with his oldest son, Blair.

His daughter, Ashley, is a fine art photographer who has trained in New York City, Cortona, Italy, and has a B.F.A. from the University of Georgia.  She specializes in interiors, events, commercial projects, and children’s portraits. His youngest sons are students at Walton High School.

Jessica McBurnett: Area Manager GA & Instructor, EFDA

Jessica is a native of West Cobb area and grew up near Lost Mountain. Following graduation from McEachern High School, she attended Kennesaw State University and was one of the first graduates from Learn to Earn Dental Staff School. She was under the supervision of  Children for Dentistry where she obtained the title of office manger. Her location was the largest producing office inside of  this unique company. She is a highly trained dental professional who is expanding her knowledge and leadership skills. Jessica works with local communities and agencies to generate positive image for the placement of our graduates.

Jessica & Michael have 2 young boys and live in the West Cobb.

Abby Hanna: Administrative Assistant
Joined the Dental Staff School in 2015 to provide administrative support to the director and staff bringing with her a working knowledge of dentistry.

Dr. Ed Schlissel: D.D.S., M.S.: Guest Speaker

Dr. Schlissel moved to Atlanta to be closer to his daughter and family after a career as a Professor of Dentistry at the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University on Long Island.  He received his dental training at the University of Buffalo, and after graduation, he joined the faculty of the School of Dental Medicine. Currently, he serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Emory University Medical Center, where he gives seminars to the residents in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is the author of many articles, research abstracts and book chapters. He lectures widely on  topics in restorative and cosmetic dentistry, including dental implants, Cerec machine, and dental materials research.
